Activity 1 - Directory Creation

Activity 2 - Creating Files, Saving Files and File Types
This activity goes over where and how to save files, file types, and file naming guidelines.
Objective(s):

  • Reinforces knowledge and understanding of directory structure.
  • Create files that will be used for classroom or teacher.
  • Gain an understanding of file types.

Activity 3 - Inspiration 7 - Premier Tool to Develop Ideas and Organize Thinking
Story and Character Mapping

Activity 4 - How to Scan a Picture
For this activity we will learn how to scan a work of art or a photograph in preparation for using in an on line published story.

Activity 5 - How to Copy Files from One Directory to Another
This activity goes over how to copy files into the directory where you will need the file. For example, after you have scanned an image in the How to Scan a Picture Activity, you will need to copy that to your images directory on your H drive so that it can then be used for the next activity which is creating a Story using Power Point.

Objective(s):

  • Student will learn how to copy a file to the directory where it will be used.
  • Student will be able to use the file in their Power Point story.
  • Reinforcing of knowledge and understanding of the directory structure

Activity 6 - Publishing Stories Using Power Point
For this activity you will write an illustrated children's book or take an existing student's story and convert it into a Power Point show for used on the computer and on the web site.

Objective(s):

  • Modeling Story Writing and Illustrating
  • Student will learn how to create a Power Point show for the purpose of creating an electornic story.
  • Provide student with opportunity to share their writing.
  • Provide students with motiation to write and illustrate stories for the purpose of enhancing their writing skills.
  • Develop a love of writing and reading of stories.
  • Learning the Technical Skills for Power Point.
