- Open Inspiration - Go to Start -> Programs -> and click on Inspiration.or
open the file that you have already created in Inspiration.
- Go to File -> Open Template -> Double Click on the Yellow Folder
for Language Arts, and Double Click on Literary Web.
- You will see a template for mapping out a story book. It can also
be used for a story or play that you will be writing. SAVE
your file now in your grade directory, i.e. grade3 if
you are a student or in your Named directory, i.e. rlamothe, if you
are a teacher or staff person.
- Click inside the middle box that says Story Title and type in the
title of the book that you will be mapping. Then start filling in the
various categories that you see on the template such as Setting, Themes,
Conflict, etc.
- Once you have filled in a number of categories, experiment
with the graphics, font size, and other tools that you
see in the left hand side of your screen. This is your opportunity to
have a little fun with the technology.
In class we will be going over some of the techniques for changing the
pictures for the boxes, how to do rapid fire and creating new boxes
and categories. Hint, often changes are made by FIRST
highlighting the object that you want to apply the change to then clicking
on the tool.

and click on Writing Project - Writing a Play. There
are also other projects there that you might want to try with your class.
