    Create Make Thumbnail images of all your Graphics and Photographs and Place in a Table on your Graphics Page.

    Thumnails are smaller versions of larger graphic images) that are often used to link to the larger image of the image..

    Create a thumbnail version of all of your graphics that you have on your graphics page. We will also be placing the thumbnail pictures in a table as a way to organize your pictures.
    1. Please go to the below page and follow the directions on that page. A little later in the class or tomorrow, we will be going over how to create thumbnails and how to put them into a table.

    Another example of using thumbnail images to link to a larger image can be seen on Mr. Lamothe's images page.

    Create links for your link buttons on ALL your pages.

    You will need to create the same links on all you pages. In other words, your home page must have links to your other pages, your graphics page must have links ot all your other pages, etc.

  • Read about Creating Links, Understanding Relative Paths and Absolute Paths
  • Upload all your files into the correct directory using CuteFTP. Your web files, (ie, htm, html) go in your main root directory and your image files go in your images directory.
    Read about the Process of putting your web site on a development server

    Details of How to Upload files using the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) procedure.

    Links on your Home Page to Other Web Sites

    In the Dreamweaver book read Chapter 4, pages 37 to 44. You should have by now created a "relative" link to a page on your web site.


    1. If you haven't created a link to a page on your site, please follow the directions in the book and create one. For example you create a link from your home page to your graphics page.
    2. Create a link to another web site ("absolute Link") on your home page, i.e. Discovery School. You could put it under the heading, My Links, or Recommended Web Site, etc. See example below.
    3. Required: Please include the three links below on your home page:

Create a Writings Page and Create Pages of Content to Link To

  1. Creating a Writings Page that will list links to your writings. On this page you will have links to your writings.

  2. Create at least 5 pages that will be linked on that page. These pages could be an essay, a report, term paper, or short story from another class such as English, World History, etc. You could create the pages using MS Word or you could create the pages as web pages using Dreamweaver.
