Creating and Linking to a Document for your Writings Page
1. If you have not created your MS Word Doc for your essay or please create one today. At the top of the Word doc, put in the title, something like The Declaration of Independence. This page will be the first page that you link to from your writings page a page that is the actual work.
2. If you not have Ms. Phillippi, please create an MS Word Doc and put a title that says, Essay on Historical Character.
3. Another Choice is to use an essay, report, or short story from another class such as English, World History, etc. Please create an MS Word Doc for that.
4. Once you have that Word Doc created, open Dreamweaver, then open your writings page. Type in something like, Report on Declaration of Independence, or whatever your report or essay is entitled.
5. Highlight it, right click, click on Make Link.
6. Find the directory that your MS Word Doc is in, then highlight it, then click select.
7. Click on Windows, then properties and the properties box will pop up on your desktop.
8. In the section that says Target, click on the little arrow and choose _blank. That will cause a new browser window to pop up when someone clicks on the link.
9. Go pack to the Word Doc and type your report.
